JRP Silver Home Assets Care: research and innovation for the future of living
The ABC Department of the Politecnico di Milano stands among the key players in the development of new research and innovation pathways, also thanks to the contribution of Prof. Marzia Morena, faculty member of the Department and involved in initiatives promoted by the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano.
Within this framework, JRP Silver Home Assets Care has been launched—a Joint Research Partnership embedded in an increasingly collaborative ecosystem that connects universities, institutions, and industry partners. The initiative strengthens the role of research as a driver of transformation, capable of interpreting the emerging needs of contemporary society.
In a context marked by population ageing, the project focuses on the evolution of housing models, welfare systems, and care services, aiming to respond to new demands related to quality of life and long-term real estate management. In particular, the built heritage is interpreted as a strategic lever for people’s wellbeing and for the sustainable development of territories.
Through the Joint Research Partnership model, the Fondazione Politecnico di Milano, together with the University and its involved departments, reinforces its role as a bridge between research and application, promoting innovative solutions in high-impact social and economic fields.
The Silver Home Asset Care project aims to develop studies and tools for innovation in the housing and real estate sector, with a specific focus on the integration between services, territory, and residential environments. In the Italian context—characterized by high levels of home ownership and a growing over-65 population—new needs are emerging regarding housing quality, long-term asset management, and the development of integrated “home-and-service” models.
Project objectives
- Evolve housing models by integrating residential spaces with services tailored to emerging population needs
- Analyze the long-term transformation and management of real estate assets in relation to demographic change
- Strengthen the link between housing systems and welfare, promoting integrated models between services and territory
- Provide data, analysis, and expertise to support public and private decision-making processes
- Foster the development of innovative tools and economic-financial models to activate investment and generate long-term value
- Define operational guidelines and shared benchmarks for stakeholders and sector operators
A forward-looking vision where interdisciplinarity and collaboration become key elements in addressing societal transformations and building new sustainable models of living.
