Politecnico di Milano welcomes Arturo Donadio, among the most authoritative international figures in the design of complex structures.

On Thursday, June 4th, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 AM in Aula III.A, Donadio will lead a lecture dedicated to the relationship between structural analysis, construction and design culture, within the Architectural Technology Fundamentals course and the Architecture Design and Construction Studio coordinated by Professor Massimiliano Nastri.

A rare opportunity to attend a session that combines scientific rigour, field experience and the direct transmission of knowledge.

Short bio

Arturo Donadio (Studio SPS, Milan), an internationally renowned scientist in the design of complex structures, distinguished former student and continuator of the engineering culture inherited from Masters Leo Finzi, Giulio Maier, Alessandro Dei Poli and Martinez Y Cabrera, returns to the Politecnico di Milano.

Without clamour or publicity, but with the humility of those who truly know.

A world authority in mechanical analysis, author of manuals and technical treatises, who chose to lead and resolve construction projects across every continent rather than pursue an academic career, acquiring knowledge and experience directly through practice. As if following Renzo Piano’s principle: after the phases of learning and application comes the time for teaching.

No celebration, no formality: he enters the classrooms of the Architectural Technology Fundamentals course and the Architecture Design and Construction Studio, both coordinated by Professor Massimiliano Nastri.

With the attitude of the true and traditional Politecnico engineer: brief lectures that enlighten students, challenge them and reassure them; then he immerses himself in complex projects, immediate and rigorous calculations, down to executive details shaped in his hands like Renaissance sculptures.

In silence, in an age dominated by communicative frenzy and self-celebration, unrepeatable moments take form through his participation and intense presence.

An intellectual and scientific contribution that honours the Politecnico community and helps shape the students’ cultural, technical and operational knowledge: immediately, and permanently.
