"Cities can be understood as complex systems in which built form, local climate, and user behavior continuously interact. For those who study building physics, this means considering not only geometry and materials, but also the flows of energy, air, light, and people. Design can thus ensure conditions of comfort and accessibility for users of different ages, abilities, and socioeconomic status. At the same time, the integration of natural and built systems—for example, through bioclimatic strategies, nature-based solutions, and passive control of the urban microclimate—helps create resilient environments, in which environmental quality and the conscious use of resources are mutually supportive".
