Byllis Project
Byllis Project
EU for Economic Development - Tourism-led Local Economic Development, with focus on Culture Heritage
Nora Lombardini (Principal Investigator)
The project involves the Byllis and Klos Archaeological Park, one of the most significant archaeological sites of Albania. The strategy of intervention considers cultural heritage as a key driver to inclusive growth. The project foresees outcomes in three domains: inclusive approach, participatory approach and capacity-building. Polimi coordinates a Capacity building programme addressed to students, archaeologists and restorers, and Albanian Ministry of Culture employees. The programme include: a cycle of lectures; a study visit in Italy; a cycle of conferences in Italy and Albania; a training workshop onsite in Byllis, during which the mosaic floors of a basilica will be restored.
