Associate Professor

Maria Pompeiana Iarossi is Associate Professor of Drawing at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where she has taught since 1998.

Career

Degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Milan (1985).

PhD in Architectural Composition from the IUAV University of Venice (1994).

Research

His research, which focuses on the representation of architectural and urban phenomena, along with the study of historical cartography, has in recent years focused on representation—understood both in the traditional form of drawing and in reference to the experimentation of the most advanced digital systems—as a support for the design process and project pedagogy.

Since May 2022, member of the board of the PhD D ABC. Since June 2023, member of the board of the National Doctorate in Heritage Science, University of Rome "La Sapienza".

Member of the ABC Departmental Scientific Committee (2017-2019) Since 2021, member of the jury of the Piranesi Prize – Prix de Rome and of the judging committee of the Confalonieri Foundation Prize for doctoral and post-doctoral scholarships.

Since 2017, member of the GPA - Grupo Patrimonio Arquitectónico, FAU-Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, Belgrano (Buenos Aires), as head of the research project: "El patrimonio architectónico de Buenos Aires realizado en los siglos 19th and 20th por arquitectos, ingenieros y constructores italianos" (The architectural heritage of Buenos Aires realized in the 19th and 20th centuries by Italian architects, engineers and builders), in partnership with: CABA-Comunidad Autónoma de Buenos Aires and the Italian Cultural Institute in Buenos Aires.
