Research

Oscar Eugenio Bellini’s research activity is situated in the fields of technological design in architecture and environmental design. His work focuses on the processes of formation, transformation, and management of the built environment and anthropized landscape, with particular attention to the relationship between morpho-techno-typological innovation, technical and construction feasibility, and the protection and enhancement of the context. His main research topics concern Student Housing and Social Housing, considered paradigmatic areas for design, management, and regulatory experimentation, studied in terms of housing models, qualitative and quantitative standards, and the role these infrastructures can play in urban and socio-economic regeneration processes. Additional areas of investigation include Vegetated and Greenery Architecture and the recovery of existing buildings (rooftop architecture, remodelage, etc.).

Oscar Eugenio Bellini also coordinates national and international research groups, providing collaborations and scientific consultancy to public and private organizations, including research centres, universities, and local administrations. Since 2021, he has served as Scientific Director of the Departmental Soft Laboratory HOME_Lab. Innovative Solutions for Student Accommodation, which integrates theoretical research and practical experimentation in the field of Student Housing by promoting collaborations with stakeholders at both national and international levels.
