Paolo Borlenghi is an Assistant Professor (RTDA) at the Department of Architecture, Built Environment and Construction Engineering (ABC) of Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on vibration-based Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), finite-element model updating, and model-based damage identification of existing bridges and heritage structures. He obtained a PhD cum laude in "Tecnica delle Costruzioni" (Structural Design) from Politecnico di Milano in 2021 and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher on bridge assessment and SHM. He has authored 10+ peer-reviewed journal papers and 20+ conference contributions, and has been involved in extensive field testing and long-term monitoring of bridges for major infrastructure operators. His current interests include SHM of river bridges, scour risk assessment, and model-based approaches to damage identification for civil structures.
