Giordano Pier Francesco
Researcher
Pier Francesco Giordano is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at POLIMI. He is an IDEA League Fellow and a recipient of a MSCA Individual Fellowship. He received his Ph.D. cum laude in 2021 at DABC.
He holds an Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree in Structural Analysis of Monuments and Historical Constructions (SAHC) from UMINHO (Portugal) and UPC (Spain), as well as B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Civil Engineering from UNIBO (Italy), both awarded cum laude.
His research focuses on Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), aiming to advance monitoring and asset management practices for civil structures and infrastructure systems. His main areas include Value of Information (VoI), vibration-based SHM, and InSAR satellite monitoring. He is actively engaged with IABSE and serves on the board of EVACES. He is involved in several Italian and European research projects and has authored numerous articles published in leading international journals in the field.
