The team develops studies and research dealing with the design and management of built environment, aiming to achieve a unitary vision of all the phases of the building process and a perspective of the life cycle in its multiple forms, applying and experimenting with criteria, methods and tools at different scales. The Lab mainly focuses on the study and application of techniques articulated in their broadest spectrum and dealing with planning and programming, production, assembly, management (mainly aimed at use and maintenance) and disposal and management of materials end of life cycle (reuse and recycling).

Management of property assets from a life-cycle perspective

Consultancy and technical support relating to tools and methods for the management of property assets from a life-cycle perspective, such as manuals and maintenance plans.

Environmental policies

Research, consultancy and technical support relating to environmental policies such as: Sustainable Production and Consumption, Green Economy, Circular Economy, Green Public Procurement, Resource Efficiency.

Environmental certification of products and services

Research, consultancy and technical support relating to environmental certification tools such as Environmental Product Declaration, Carbon Footprint and Environmental Footprint.

Green Building Rating Systems

Research, consultancy and technical support relating to multi-criteria building evaluation/certification systems. Definition/adaptation of specific criteria within the green building rating systems for local settings. Development of dedicated systems on the basis of specific building needs and/or types.

Evaluation of sustainability in the life cycle

Consultancy and technical support relating to methods for evaluating sustainability in the life cycle, such as Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing and Social-LCA.
